Thames Turbo Sprint Triathlon
Great for a first race and held on each of the 4 summer bank holidays – so expect bank holiday weather.
One fab tip – after the race, be sure to enjoy a bacon butty on the rooftop cafe!
Course goes up and down the pool (ducking under ropes at the shallow end)
Then transition is really close and compact – but be careful not to trip
Bike course is up to Hampton Court, then back and up through Sunbury towards Chertsey. The road is flat, but the surface has a few potholes, there are some humps (sleeping policeman), there’s one traffic light (stop if it’s red!) and there can be some traffic in the way – watch out for busses especially, and remember that the race just isn’t worth the risk!
Bike course ends at the waterworks – you then have up to 7 minutes stress-free to slowly make your way back to the pool – this is plenty of time – the cycle only takes 3 minutes so relax….
Then run is up the road and into Bushy Park – it’s only 5km and it’s flat – how much can it hurt
