Arundel is now in its 6th year with numbers increasing each year. Arundel is steeped in history with its Castle and the River Arun running through the town. Located between Chichester and Worthing in West Sussex, Arundel is popular with tourists. Race HQ is the unique Arundel Outdoor Lido right on the banks of the River Arun and under the shadow of the castle. There are three events to choose from, the ‘Long Triathlon’ (800m swim, 40km bike, 10km run), the ‘Sprint Triathlon’ (400m swim, 20km bike, 5km run) and ‘Relay Triathlon’ run over the long distance course (1 swimmer, 1 cyclist & 1 runner). The swim is in the outdoor 25m pool; the bike uses mainly ‘A’ Class roads and has a long gradual climb shortly after the start. The run takes athletes along the tree lined avenue by the castle and River Arun before heading towards the Arundel Estate. The Long Triathlon then climbs to the trig point on the estate affording spectacular views at the top, before a rolling section into the village of South Stoke. A Catering Marquee and Trade Stand will be sited within the grounds of the Lido. Arundel’s shops, cafes, pubs, museums and castle will also be open to the public.
No map for the swim at present – it’s in the lido!
